Employers in Sindh warned against lay offs during pandemic lockdown

The Sindh authorities on Monday warned all private and non-private employers in opposition to shedding staff throughout the provincial lockdown throughout the novel coronavirus outbreak.

In accordance with a notification issued by the provincial authorities, staff wouldn’t be laid off “throughout the ban interval” and employers could be obliged to pay staff their due salaries, remunerations, and wages.

The notification added that in case the orders weren’t obeyed, employers could be held responsible on account of breaching Part 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
